While many provincial law schools got zero in the recent Bar Examinations, the Cagayan State University posted a 25% passing mark, the same as the national average. 5 of its 22 examinees passed the very difficult examination. Quite significantly, all those who passed were "first-takers", passing the Bar in 'one-click'.
In a related development the Board of Regents decided to accredit Dean Leticia P. Callangan-Aquino, Judge Conrad Manaus, Judge Antonio Laggui and Attorney Venancio del Rosario, faculty members of the College of Law, with the degree Juris Doctor ad eundem gradum. A degree 'ad eundem gradum' is a degree the equvalent of which the conferee already possesses and is therefore not an honorary degree. |
