The Cagayan State University Carig Campus broke ground for the construction of the College of Human Kinetics (CHK)Building and Campus Science Laboratory on May 3, 2016.

At the ceremony, Dr. Archimedes C. Articulo, Campus Executive Officer of CSU Carig Campus, narrated how the construction of the building was approved.

Dr. Articulo emphasized that the building was just a dream or pangarap. He added that: “Kapag masinop ang pamilya at alam gastusin ang pera, maraming makikitang development.” (If the family is prudent and knows how to handle its finances, developments happen).

He told the University and Campus officials and others guests present that the fund for the construction of the building will come from Fund 164 or the internally generated income.

The campus head said that, apart from the HK building, other infrastructure projects are up for implementation including the Olympic-size swimming pool, campus food court, animal clinic for the College of Veterinary Medicine, and the new student center that will be equipped with facilities and materials for student research.

Among those who graced the occasion was Mr. Renz Angelo Umambong, the outgoing student regent.

In his speech, he said that indeed CSU is improving from its previous best.

The infrastructure projects implemented, he said, are concrete manifestations that no matter how high dreams are, they can be turned into reality if there is unity, the same point expressed by Dr. Perfecto Vivit, university faculty regent, said in his speech.

Atty. Honorato Carag, chief administrative officer of the University, in his turn to speak, congratulated Articulo and his campus officials for their efforts in expanding the physical footprint of the campus with the implementation of the two projects and other projetcs on queue, which according to the CEO, are all in preparation for the K to 12 program of the government.

The CEO, Umabong, Vivit, Carag and other guests were welcomed by a dance number performed by the students of CHK.

According to the perfromers, the dance is a traditional dance meant to drive away evil spirits.
