The CSU Administration conferred on 763 graduates their respective degrees and titles in a three-hour academic convocation at the CSU Andrews Gymnasium on June 6, 2016.
Dr. Mariden V. Cauilan, vice president for academic affairs and officer in-charge of the Office of the University President, led the ceremony graced by the members of the CSU Board of Regents, campus executive officers, university officials, deans and members of the faculty of instruction.
Speaking before the graduates, parents and guests who packed the gymnasium, Dr. Cauilan urged the batch 2016 to be productive citizens of the community and be competitive in the advent of ASEAN Integration.
She encouraged them to use the skills and values they acquired from CSU wherever they may be and whatever paths they take in the coming days.
As a response, Ms. Henedina P. Reyes, president’s lister and a graduate of the degree Master of Arts in Education major in English, thanked administration, faculty members and all for making it possible for batch 2017 to reach the peak of their campus experience: graduation.
She asked the graduates to rise to give all who contributed to their success a round of applause as a show of their heartfelt gratitude.
An AB English graduate, Ms. Rochelle Nera led Reyes and the 761 others, 181 of whom are international students, the recitation of the CSU Pledge of Loyalty.
Afterwhich, Dr. Louie Sunico, president of the CSU Alumni Association and ex-officio member of the CSU Board of Regents, swore the graduates into the association.
Prof. Samuel Gaspar, university registrar, said of the 763 who received their diplomas, 192 came from Andrews, 21 from Aparri, 435 from Carig, 22 from Gonzaga, 15 from Lal-lo, 2 from Lasam, 16 from Piat and 60 from Sanchez Mira.
