The Commision on Higher Education (CHEDR02) through OIC Director Dr. Honorato R. Alzate awarded the Tulong Dunong (TD) 02 checks to different schools with CHED Student Financial Assistance Program (StuFAPs) grantees from different schools for the 3rd District of Cagayan through Congressman Randolph Sera Ting at the CSU-Amphitheater on January 27.
A total of P10 Million was already downloaded directly to the Cagayan State University account for the 1666 grantees of the University for the S.Y. 2016-2017 while other schools received their checks through Marilou A. Malabug of CHEDRO2.
Institutions awarded included CSU-Andrews, CSU-Carig, CSU-Piat, University of Cagayan Valley, University of St. Louis-Tuguegaro, St. Paul University of the Philippines, Maria Rosario College, FLV College and Lyceum of Tuao.
“Kung mahirap ang pamumuhay niyo at gusto mong mabago ang buhay niyo, mag-aral kayong mabuti,” Cong. Randy S. Ting (RST) lauded in his inspirational message.
As promised, Ting also gave a cash incentive worth P1,500 to the RST grantees who belong to the dean’s list last Second Semester of S.Y 2015-2016.
Joel Bariuan, Deputy Chief Staff of RST urged the students to submit their requirements ahead of time so that they will not be delisted or to notify them if they stopped anymore so that slots will be given to others.
Dr. Honorato R. Alzate added that one factor that causes the delay is the grantees’ negligence of duty in complying requirements that’s why Mr. Rey S. Tuddao, the Unit Head of StuFAPs (CHEDRO2) conducted an orientation on StuFAPs in accordance with CMO 13, s. 2014 to remind the responsibilities of the grantees.
CSU President Urdujah A. Tejada was glad to see the supportive parents attending the program monitoring their children and their scholarships/ grant-in-aids.
The Office of the Student Services and Welfare headed by Dr. Loraine S. Tattao, Director facilitated the program.
