The College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) conducted Free Bone Densitometry and serviced one hundred CSU women employees in Andrews Campus. The activity was organized by the CAHS faculty, which was led by Dr. Julius Capili, CAHS Dean and Ann P. Chua, CAHS GAD Coordinator and other staff. It was also facilitated by a UNILAB- BIOFEMME Pharmaceutical, Ronwaldo E. Bognot and the Tuguegarao Zonta Club Foundation headed by Dr. Evelyn Puzon Guzman, who is the president of the club and assisted by the other four Zonta members namely, Dr. Josan Evangelista, Shelley T. Pascual, Filomenia Tristeza and Mildred Serrano.
The said activity was a form of event for “Serbisyo Para kay Juana”, in observance of the 2017 Women’s Month Celebration. It aimed to measure bone loss in Women of pre and post-menopausal age, to assess the strength of the bones and the probability of fracture in persons at risk for osteoporosis and to increase awareness of the importance of early detection and appropriate prescription therapy.
