CSU President Dr. Romeo R. Quilang has given his blessing to the participation of 15 officials, faculty members, administrative personnel and students as members of the Coro De San Jacinto, one of the choirs selected to sing during the pontifical mass at the Quirino Grandstand on Jan. 18, fourth day of the pastoral and state visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to the Philippines.
The President issued on Dec. 8 a special order authorizing the involvement of the Coro members in the general rehearsals and papal mass from January 16-19 in Manila.
The 15include Fr. Ranhilio C. Aquino, Coro's musical director,Prof. Judy Luyun, Ms. Emily Guzman, Dr. Magnolia Factora, Dr. Pablo Narag, Mr. Eric Decapia, Dr. Rafael Sumabat, Ms. Ann Chua, Mr. Jake Canapi, Mr. Steve Malana, Mr. Dave Astley A. Amid, Ms. Joanne Ursulum, Ms. Princess MajiSangab, Mr. Benjamin Macarubbo, and Mr. Ian Roger M. Francisco.
They all belong to the 40-member Coro known for its concerts here and abroad and which is now on its 10th year of fulfilling its apostolate in the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao.
The recent concert the group did was on Dec. 10 at the St. Peter's Metropolitan Cathedral.
Set to leave in March for an Indonesian performance, the Coro holds a regular practice at the Palacio every Sunday after its 5 p.m. Cathedral mass service.
