8 programs get Level I accreditation status; 19 graduate programs to undergo AACCUP preliminary visit

The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities (AACCUP) has awarded Level I accreditation status to eight programs of the university.

Five of these programs are offered in CSU Piat Campus. These are Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education majors in English, Mathematics, Social Science, Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Police Administration.

Offered in CSU Lasam Campus, the other three include Bachelor of Elementary Education major in General Education, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology majors in Applied Electronics and Food Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

The date of validity of accreditation, according to Dr. Laureana M. Lingan, assistant director for quality assurance, is March 16, 2015 to March 15, 2018.

The accreditation of the eight programs brings CSU a total of 36 accredited courses, 15 of which are with Level 2 status. Thirty-seven of the 84 accreditable programs of the University are enjoying a candidate status for Level 1.

On May 11-16, 19 graduates programs will undergo a preliminary visit by the AACCUP. These programs are Doctor of Public Administration, Doctor of Philosophy in Education major in English Language Education, Doctor of Philosophy in Education major in Science Education, Doctor of Philosophy in Education major in Educational Management, Master In Public Administration, Master in Public Health, Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management, Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management, Master of Arts in Education major in Filipino and Master of Arts in Education major in Social Studies.

Master of Arts in Education major in Technology Education Management, Master of Arts in Physical Education, Master of Arts in Psychology, Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling, Master of Science Teaching major in Chemistry, Master of Science Teaching major in Physics, Master of Science Teaching major in Biology, Master of Science Teaching major in mathematics, and Master of Science in Information Technology.
