CSU holds job hiring event

A job hiring event was held at the CSU Andrews Amphitheater on June 11 to highlight the celebration of the Cagayan State University’s 37th anniversary as a state university with the theme, "CSU Going World Class."

Participated in by at least 200 graduates of CSU, the activity started at 8 a.m. and ended before noon.

CSU, through its University Planning Services (UPS), partnered with John Clements (JC), a 40 year-old international consultancy agency with clients from the Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) and manufacturing industries based in Manila, to host the affair graced by CSU President Romeo R. Quilang, PhD.

JC representatives led by Mr. Dennis Anthony Pabelico conducted a career talk, interviews, onsite testing and resume pooling for CSU graduates willing to work and stay in Manila.

In his message, President Quilang said the activity is CSU’s way in ensuring that "our graduates will have a job after graduation."

He told the audience that university’s success is not only measured by the number of graduates the school produces, but more importantly by the number of students who landed on jobs related to their acquired degrees after graduation.

The President cited the efforts of the UPS that collaborated with JC and the University Quality Assurance Office and the University Training and Scholarship Office to hold the event.

Pabelico said the qualified applicants his team interviewed received letters of endorsement from JC and were advised to go to Manila for an on-the-job training.

JC scheduled tentatively a similar activity on June 19 to accommodate those who did not make it on June 11.
