The celebration of the 37th anniversary of Cagayan State University became even much merrier for over 500 employees of the University after the Finance Office released their Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) on June 11, 2015.

The employees, who come from the eight campuses of CSU, received an incentive equivalent of one month pay, depending on their salary.

According to Ms. Monaliza Guzman, university accountant, P19,154,275 was released by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to cover the PEI of CSU employees pursuant to Executive Order No. 181 issued on May 15, 2015.

The amount, she said, was sourced from the Miscellaneous Personnel Benefits Fund of the agency.

A total of 564 permanent employees qualified for the incentive. Under EO 181, casuals, consultants and employees hired on job order or contract of service are not covered by PEI.

To be eligible for the grant of PEI, a national government agency such as CSU should meet the following conditions as provided for in EO 181:

  1. Achievement of at least 90% of the FY 2014 targets under at least two (2) performance indicators (quantity, quality, or timeliness) for at least one (1) Major Final Output (MFO) under Operations
  2. Compliance with the posting of the Transparency Seal as required under Section 91, General Provisions of the FY 2014 General Appropriations Act (R.A. No. 10633)
  3. Compliance with the posting or publication of the Citizen’s Charter or its equivalent as required under the Anti-Red Tape Ad of 2007 (R.A. No. 9485)
