The University recognizes the need for the integration of Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) into its curricula as provided for in the Commission on Higher Education’s Memorandum Order No. 46 titled "Policy Standard to Enhance Quality Assurance (QA) In Philippine Higher Education through Outcomes-Based and Typology-Based QA."
To address this need, the Academic Affairs Office (AAO) conducted a seminar-workshop on OBE syllabi writing for the curriculum planners and developers of the University on June 23-24, 2015 at the CSU Andrews Amphitheater.
The seminar was aimed to provide the participants an in-depth understanding of OBE and how to institutionalize it in CSU and to offer them techniques in planning and writing OBE ready syllabi.
Participated in by 163 faculty members who included deans and department chairs, the seminar had the following topics: "The OBE Curriculum: Principles and Process" and "Writing Institutional Learning Outcomes, Program Learning Outcomes, Course Learning Outcomes and Course Syllabi."
Headed by Dr. Leticia Dumlao, university director of instruction, AAO invited Dr. Ruth Alido (Philippine Normal University), Prof. Marla Papango (Philippine Normal University), and Dr. Roberto Dacanay (Centro Escolar University) to serve as resource speakers.
Faculty members of the College of Teacher Education headed by Dean Panfilo Canay served as facilitators of the seminar.
