These agencies collaborated to give the Malauegs free medical, dental, and surgical check – up and medicines, technical consultations, agricultural inputs, vet services like: vaccines on anthrax and anti-rabbies, and IECs to advocate the agencies’ thrusts and services.

President Romeo R. Quilang emphasized the role of CSU in bringing development to the community in the entire province acting as a liaison of the different line agencies through its extension arm. The People’s Caravan is CSU’s way of delivering packaged government services to remote places and reaching marginalized groups. “Nandito ang CSU para iparating ang serbisyo ng Unibersidad at gobyerno”, the President stated.

Presidential Adviser for Legislative Affairs Manuel N. Mamba, in his inspirational message said, “this caravan is a way for the government to reach out to the people.” “I am deeply overwhelmed to see this number of Malauegs receiving the services of the government which are actually designed for your welfare,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mayor Joel Ruma thanked Cagayan State University and the government agencies for initiating this activity. “This is the first time that most of the government agencies come together to address the problems of the people in our municipality,” Mayor Ruma declared. As host town LGU-Rizal gave their warm and full support providing a comfortable accommodation, facility, food, security and manpower to ensure the smooth flow of the activity headed by Mayor Ruma.

CSU Piat is the lead campus in the Rizal caravan being its service area. Piat is expected to do the same in Piat and Sto. Niño sometime soon.
