Zarina Kate C. Laggui, a BSE major in Biology and a graduate of Cagayan State University-Lallo Campus is one of the national topnotchers in this year’s September Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) landing on the 8th spot in the Secondary Level with an average grade of 88.20%. The result was announced by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) on September 30, 2015.
Laggui, 22, a native of Solana, Cagayan, and a daughter of a university professor said she didn’t expect that she could be one of the national topnotchers.
"Hindi ko talaga inexpect na makakasama ako as national topnotcher, ang wish ko lang ay makapasa, but God gave me more than I ever hoped for. Para sa akin, additional blessing na lang na kasama ako sa Top 10" , Laggui explained via phone interview.
When asked about her feelings on being one of the national topnotchers, she delightedly answered, "I was just so happy that I got it to the Top 10!" She further added that her strong faith in God, in her mentors and in the quality of education that CSU bequeathed her were enough reasons to pass the licensure exams.
"…yung faith ko kay God, sa mga mentors ko, sa quality education na binigay nila, at siyempre, sa sarili ko. I should work for it before miracle happens…", said Laggui.
At present, Laggui is one of the newly hired lecturers of CSU-Lallo teaching Biology subjects at the College of Teacher Education.
Meanwhile, the university, headed by President, Dr. Romeo R. Quilang, expresses its gratitude and commendation to Ms. Lagguie for bringing once again the name of the university in the limelight. The university also conveys its congratulations to all CSUan LET passers both in the Elementary and Secondary Levels.
