CSU AND YUVAKSHETRA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES STRENGTHENS TIES THROUGH ACADEMIC AND CULTURAL EXCHANGES

In a significant stride towards fostering global collaboration and promoting cross-cultural understanding, CSU and Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies (YIMS) in India have elevated their partnership through an academic and cultural exchange program. This strategic initiative formalizes the details of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two institutions on August 22, 2023.
To jumpstart the Academic and Cultural Exchange cooperation, CSU President Dr. Urdujah G. Alvarado served as the keynote speaker on December 1, 2023, in the inaugural ceremony of the 3-day International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, themed “Emerging Paradigm in Psychology” organized by YIMS, in collaboration with CSU.
As she delivered her speech, she set the tone for discussions centered on AI's synergy with human capabilities in psychology. She emphasized that AI is a collaborator in advancing the field of psychology, and should not be a replacement for human ingenuity. “𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑢𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑒 𝑒𝑛𝑣𝑖𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑖𝑠 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 ℎ𝑢𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑚𝑎𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑠 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘 ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑑-𝑖𝑛-ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑑, 𝑒𝑎𝑐ℎ 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑡ℎ𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟,” she further noted.
Moreover, two faculty members of CSU visited YIMS to represent the university in this cultural exchange program and to showcase the prowess of CSU in the fields of instruction and research by presenting their studies in the international conference. Dr. Maria Benita Balagan - CSU's Director for the Admission and Guidance and Counseling Centre, and Dr. Maria Mamba – CSU’s graduate school coordinator are both members of the Psychology program of the university.
Looking ahead, CSU and YIMS are pursuing more opportunities for collaboration including faculty and student mobility in Psychology graduate programs, capacity-building for beginning counselors through webinars and workshops, joint efforts in research and book-writing, and the publication of research articles and creative works.
