CSU, CHR REGION 02 EMPOWER STUDENT LEADERS ON INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY

The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Region 02, in partnership with the Cagayan State University (CSU), through the Gender and Development Office, commemorated International Youth Day on August 12, 2025, through a campus event themed “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond” at the CSU Andrews Central Administration Conference Hall.

The activity gathered student leaders from CSU Carig and Andrews campuses for a series of discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions on the intersection of human rights and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Key speakers from CHR highlighted the critical role of youth in advancing human rights advocacy and translating global goals into local action.

Through lectures, group activities, and a Human Rights Pledge Wall, the event strengthened the students’ knowledge of rights-based community initiatives and inspired them to initiate impactful projects within their communities.
