The Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO) Volunteer Advisors (VA) had concluded their two-week fieldwork with the campuses of Piat, Sanchez Mira, and Andrews.

In the exit meeting held at the CSU Conference Hall on February 9, 2018, CESO VAs Vivien J. Escott and Ira B. Teich presented to President Urdujah A. Tejada and other officials their observations and recommended action on each of the campuses following their visits. OIC of the Office of the Vice President for Partnership and Resource Mobilization (PRM) Josie Bas-Ong, Dr. Florante Victor M. Balatico, Extension and Development Director, Dr. Froilan S. Pacris, Director of Knowledge and Technology Management (KTM) Dr. Vic Binasoy, Piat CEO and Dr. Narcitas Ouano, Sanchez Mira CEO were challenged by the President in implementing the recommendation of the VAs.

VA Escott’s two-week exposure at CSU Piat campus with CEO Vicente S. Binasoy and Campus officials has led to the proposal of a six-year tourism development plan dubbed as CSU-Piat Nature Farm which is currently the Agri-Animal Integrated Farm showcasing various RDE projects. The campus is envisioned to be the premiere university-based farm tourism destination in the Region alongside the adoption of environmentally sustainable organic crop and animal management. She also presented the strengths and opportunities as well as challenges of the campus.

At CSU Sanchez Mira, VA Escott found the Nagbaranganan Site a perfect sanctuary for the endangered bird specie locally called “Sawi”. She said provisions can be made to make Nagbaranganan a view deck for the Sawi birds.

Meanwhile, VA Ira B. Teich had also presented his close out review for Andrews Campus. His technical expertise covered business plan and proposal writing, presentations, and various forms of easy-to-use analytical tools. He shared his insights by conducting lectures for students & faculty mentoring seminars on market growth strategy, distribution channels & brand development. He was impressed at how CSU was able to harness its potentials given the limited financial resources.

Pres. Tejada is positive that the immediate execution of the recommendations be made to improve the University’s corporate image and to further strengthen RDE endeavors that has significant impact to the community and other stakeholders. She expressed her gratitude to Escott and Teich for the time well spent and their expertise to help CSU advance its mandate.
