CSU CONFERS DOCTOR OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION-HONORIS CAUSA TO USEC SANCHO MABBORANG

In recognition of his exemplary leadership as Regional Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Region 02 and his outstanding public service as Undersecretary of the same department, and in acknowledgement of his contribution to the advancement of research, development and extension, and technology transfer at the Cagayan State University, USEC Sancho A. Mabborang was awarded an honorary degree in Public Administration during the 45th Commencement Rites of the Graduate School of CSU-Carig Campus held at the Red Eagle Gymnasium on July 22, 2023.

In his message, Dr. Mabborang recognized CSU as an important partner of DOST 2 in promoting science, technology, and innovation in the region. He also mentioned some of the implemented Research and Development projects of DOST 2 in partnership with CSU: the Niche Center for R&D in the Region (NICER) which houses the Electromobility Research and Development Center (eMRDC), the Balik Scientist Program that successfully produced the SunBerry Food Suplement through CSU’s Senior Scientist Prof. Maria Nilda M. Munoz, the Business Incubation Zone for Novel and Sustainable Technology Enterprises (BizNEST) , the Community Empowerment through Science, Technology, Education, Environmental Protection, and Health (CESTEEPH) for the conservation and utilization of mangroves that benefited communities in Gonzaga, Cagayan, and the ONE STORE EXPRESS Project which displays DOST supported products online supporting SMSEs in the province.

As he finished his speech, he reminded the graduates to BUILD - Believe in their dreams, Unite with others, Improve their skills and abilities, Love their family and others, and Dedicate their abilities, skills, and talents to their dreams. “Strive for excellence; mediocrity will not earn you a place in the world,” he further concluded.
