In a momentuous event held at the Manila Hotel during the oath-taking ceremony of new chemical engineers on July 4, 2024, Cagayan State University was honored with a prestigious plaque for being recognized as the Top 2 Performing School nationwide in the May 2024 Chemical Engineering Board Exam. CSU achieved an outstanding institutional passing rate of 92.59%, a remarkable feat that has garnered praise and admiration from the Professional Regulation Commission and the Professional Regulatory Board of Chemical Engineering.
Professor Jane Calagui, in a heartfelt Facebook post, expressed her joy and gratitude for the achievement, emphasizing the university’s motto, “Ad astra per aspera,” which translates to “To the stars through difficulties.” She acknowledged the challenges faced along the journey but highlighted how these obstacles catapulted CSU to greater heights and ultimately led to this accolade.
Professor Calagui also credited the university’s administration for providing the necessary resources and conducive environment for both students and faculty to thrive, this playing a crucial role of support in achieving such remarkable success. OIC President Arthur Ibanez extended his well wishes and heartfelt congratulations to the Department of Chemical Engineering faculty and all the passers who contributed to CSU’s outstanding performance in the board exam.
