COLLEGE OF MEDICINE CONDUCTS 28^TH GRADAUTION AND WHITE COAT CEREMONY

Cagayan State University’s College of Medicine successfully concluded the graduation and white coat ceremony of 51 medicine students on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the Claude Andrews Convention Center. Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, OIC of the Office of the President, formally conceded the graduates’ degrees and titles after Campus Executive Officer, Engr. Roger P. Rumpon presented the candidates.

In his message, Dr. Ibañez congratulated the graduates for making it through med school, an achievement of no small feat, commending them further for enduring countless all-nighters and surviving the stresses brought by exams and rotations. “I know you’re feeling a mix of excitement, anticipation and maybe a little bit of nervousness. That’s totally normal, but trust me, you’re ready for this. You’ve been trained by the best, and you have the skills and knowledge to make a real difference in the lives of your patients” he added.

As he charged the graduates, Dr. Ibañez left an inspiring remark on the importance of perseverance, reminding them of the passion that drove them to dedicate countless hours of studying and training, their desire to heal, comfort and make a positive and lasting impact to the world. Charging them further to embrace the spirit of innovation, commitment to continuous improvement, be adaptable, open to new ideas and willingness to improve patient care and health outcomes, especially so as the medical industry is constantly evolving.

The celebration’s guest speaker and CSU’s Alumnus, Dr. Redentor B. Juan, MD, FPATACSI, inspired the graduates to be sensitive to the needs of their patients and their families, to be kind, understanding and compassionate at all times. Reminding them to be thankful for the support of their families and colleagues, and to remain strong and steadfast in the responsibility that their honest and noble profession holds.

A coating ceremony held in the afternoon marked the conclusion of their med school journey, and the start of their voyage towards the medical profession. This momentous occasion is not only a celebration of the graduates but an achievement dedicated to their parents, family, and colleagues.
