CSU’s campuses on Monday were filled with vibrant cheers and excitement as they welcomed more than 13,000 freshmen and returning students for the 2024-2025 academic year. The university’s
traditional “salubong” took place simultaneously across all campuses on August 19, 2024 marking the official start of classes and a new academic journey.
The traditional salubong celebration symbolizes the beginning of an exciting academic year, as it warmly welcomes both new and returning students. Each campus organized a variety of programs, including campus tours and orientation sessions, to help students adjust and connect with faculty, classmates and peers.
The university and campus officials extended a heartfelt welcome to all students, faculty and staff across the campuses, wishing everyone an optimistic and fulfilling academic experience throughout the year.
This year’s incoming class consists of 13,073 first-year students, distributed across campuses as follows: Andrews – 2,431; Aparri – 1,737; Carig – 4,397; Gonzaga – 779; Lallo – 790; Lasam – 461; Piat – 672; Sanchez Mira – 1,354; and Solana – 452. This new cohort represents 31.57% of CSU’s total student population of 41,412, encompassing students from first to fourth year.
