The Cagayan State University's Electromobility Research Project gained the international spotlight, receiving commendation for its innovativeness and praises from members of the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) Global Conference (WGC 2024) following the presentation of OIC-President Arthur G. Ibañez at aSSIST University, Seoul, South Korea, September 29, 2024. Dr. Ibañez presented the Electromobility Research Project under the Industrial Application Category, sparking international attention and recognition. The innovative project under the E-Mobility NICER Program, supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) was highly commended by the discussant and participants coming from Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in different countries, highlighting the projects’ innovative features, including its sustainable, eco-friendly and durable material.
Through the course of the conference, Dr. Ibañez was also selected as a member of the Board of Directors for the World University Network for Innovation (WUNI)-Presidents. In addition to the selection of Dr. Ibañez, fellow delegates Dr. Marie Claudette Calanoga, University QA Director, and Ms. Rio Averil Pamittan, CSU Carig Campus QA Coordinator, likewise became official members of the WUNI-Leaders.
CSU’s participation in the first WGC opens fresh opportunities for establishing global partnerships, benchmarking innovative educational practices, and boosting visibility on the international stage. This conference is yet another alignment in the University’s efforts to intensify its strategic actions towards quality assurance and internationalization.
The next WGC 2025 is expected to the held in Busan, South Korea, where CSU is again expected to present its innovation in education and research, moving our ranking to international universities upward.
WURI is an international body that evaluates the innovative contributions of HEIs to the progress of business and society along 13 categories. The ranking commends innovative approaches of universities and enables mutual learning from best practices to encourage improvements. It emphasizes innovation, uniqueness, and sustainable impact on the economy and society.
