Cagayan State University (CSU), led by OIC President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, renewed its partnership with the ZONTA Club of Tuguegarao, represented by President Liza Mora-Arroyo, during the launch of the 18-day campaign to end Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC), November 22, 2024.
In his address, Dr. Ibañez encouraged the CSU community to create a culture of respect and equality and highlighted the university's commitment to being a VAWC-free institution. "In every research, study, and proposal we undertake, we ensure that women receive equal benefits and opportunities. Our commitment to Gender and Development (GAD) is reflected in a dedicated budget for activities aligned with this cause. Through instruction, research, and extension, we adhere to the principles of this law," he said.
Meanwhile, ZONTA Club of Tuguegarao President Liza Mora-Arroyo praised CSU for its proactive efforts in championing the campaign and maintaining a strong partnership with ZONTA to promote respect and gender equality.
CSU has lined up various activities for the campaign, including the "You JUANA Debate," "JUANAtalk," Digital Poster Making Contest, "LITRAtalks: Let the Photos Tell the Story of a Woman," "I JUANA Write: Student Research Proposal Competition," and a series of webinars on VAWC, among others.
