Cagayan State University, through the Office of the Vice President for Internationalization, Partnership and Resource Mobilization, has officially launched its inaugural long-term exchange program in collaboration with Warmadewa University of Indonesia. This initiative, which also invites lecturers from esteemed institutions in Vietnam, Taiwan, and India, commenced on December 9, 2024, and is set to continue through May 2025.

This International Convocation is a significant step forward in CSU’s commitment to global engagement, aligning with the Board of Regents-approved Athena Internationalization Roadmap for the Cagayan State University system, as well as the CHED IZN Framework.

The convocation kicked off with a series of plenary sessions focused on the International Convocation on Life Sciences, Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, also known as the Green Framework (ICLSAFF). Following this, participants from other colleges will engage in the International Convocation Series on Applied Science and Technology (ICAST), referred to as the Red Framework and the Global Education Forum (GEF), known as the Blue Framework.

In his opening address during the ICLSAFF, OIC University President Dr. Arthur Ibañez underscored the collaborative mission of CSU and its international partners. “As a unified global community, let us take decisive action to address the pressing challenges faced in the fields of life sciences, agriculture, fisheries and related disciplines,” he stated.

The Green Framework was conceptualized and organized by Dr. Ana Marie Cauilan, Vice President for Internationalization, Partnership and Resource Mobilization, and implemented by Internationalization Director Kristinne A. Lara, with contributions from Fisheries Dean Dr. Quirino Pascua, Agriculture Dean Dr. Andrea Dawan from CSU Piat, and Dr. Luh Suriati from Warmadewa, along with other deans from the College of Agriculture, Allied Health Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, and Medicine, who served as facilitators for the event.

A total of 189 participants registered for this convocation, featuring speakers, faculty and student participants from Universiti Warmadewa, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, National Taiwan Ocean University, Savitribai Phule Pune University and Cagayan State University.

The convocation aims to foster inclusive engagement among faculty members, who will participate as plenary speakers, resource persons and panel discussants, as well as present joint research projects between faculty and students for the next 6 months. At the conclusion of this six-month exchange program, research outputs and other projects generated during the initiative will be showcased during the Nexus Summit scheduled for July 2025.
