Cagayan State University (CSU), led by OIC President Arthur G. Ibañez, formalized its partnership with 22 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) nationwide through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the establishment of the ACHIEVE Consortium.
The ACHIEVE Consortium, chaired by MMSU, aims to promote innovative research collaborations, academic engagements, and community-building initiatives among member institutions, government and non-government organizations, and international agencies.
Under the agreement, the SUCs will collaborate on joint conferences, research activities, capacity-building programs, sharing of academic resources, faculty and student exchange programs, development of transnational education and short-term courses, and promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The signing coincided with MMSU’s 47th founding anniversary, during which former MMSU President and current Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis presented the ACHIEVE milestones from 2017 to 2024. Dr. Agrupis, who now serves as CSU’s Board of Regents Chair, was also honored with a retirement program commending her remarkable contributions to MMSU.
The signing ceremony was held on January 21, 2025, at Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) in Batac City, Ilocos Norte.
