CSU EARNS LEVEL III INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION IN AACCUP CYCLE 1 SURVEY VISIT

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Cagayan State University (CSU) Andrews and Carig campuses have been awarded Level III Institutional Accreditation status by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP), valid from February 1, 2025 to January 31, 2030.

The accreditation was granted following the university’s first institutional accreditation visit conducted by the AACCUP team on January 13–17, 2025.

Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, Officer-in-Charge President, officially received today, May 2, the AACCUP Technical Review and Board Action confirming the award, along with the summary of findings and recommendations.

The evaluation team was led by Dr. Milabel E. Ho, AACCUP Executive Director, and Dr. Anthony M. Penaso, Team Leader. They were joined by Dr. Sanjay P. Claudio, Dr. Charisma S. Ututalum, Dr. Edgar E. Tulin, Dr. Jean N. Guillasper, Dr. Liza M. Tamargo, Dr. Cecilio L. Manarpaac, and Dr. Maria Glenda O. de Lara.

The accreditation covered nine areas: governance and management; teaching, learning, and evaluation; faculty and staff; research; extension, consultancy, and linkages; student support; library; infrastructure and other learning resources; and quality assurance culture.

This recognition follows CSU’s recent distinction as the Top 1 performing state university with the highest number of Level IV accredited programs, awarded during the 31st AACCUP Annual National Conference held in March 2025.

Institutional Accreditation is the highest level of accreditation status conferred by AACCUP to state universities and colleges.
