CHAMPIONING FORTY-SEVEN YEARS OF EXCELLENCE AND TRANSFORMATION

APARRI, CAGAYAN - WIth pride in its past and vision for the future, Cagayan State University (CSU) celebrates its 47th year of transformative service through a vibrant, week-long celebration hosted by the CSU-Aparri Campus.

The anniversary celebration, which carried the theme โ€œSoaring High: Celebrating 47 Years of Excellence and Transformation at Cagayan State University,โ€ kicked off with a vibrant opening salvo and the much-anticipated SARABO 2025 Trade Fair, all under the unifying spirit of CSUโ€™s signature amethyst hue.

Dressed in colorful costumes and bursting with energy, 3,039 CSU students of Aparri Campus welcomed university officials, campus executive officers, faculty, staff, and guests during the grand walk, captivating the crowd with lively and well-choreographed welcome dance numbers.

The opening program featured the Presidentโ€™s Report, delivered by University President Dr. Arthur G. Ibaรฑez through an audio-visual presentation, highlighting Cagayan State Universityโ€™s key accomplishments from February 2024 to present and its strategic alignment with the Eight-Point Socioeconomic Agenda, Ambisyon Natin 2040, the Cagayan Valley Development Plan 2023โ€“2028, and the Sustainable Development Goals.

In instruction, CSU achieved an 84.06% board exam passing rate, well above the national average, and produced 50 national topnotchers in various fields. The university was recognized as the Top 1 Performing School in Respiratory Therapy, Top 3 in Medical Technology, Top 4 in Electrical Engineering, Top 6 in Chemical Engineering, and Top 8 in Criminology.

The number of graduates rose to 7,202 in 2024, and CSU ranked Top 1 among SUCs with the most Level IV accredited programs. All campuses are ISO-certified, and CHED compliance reached 93.57%. It also achieved Level III Institutional Accreditation during the first cycle visit by AACCUP.

In administration, CSU posted high budget utilization rates, secured a โ‚ฑ1.38B budget for 2025, and generated โ‚ฑ35.9M from income-generating projects. It expanded with its 10th campus in Baggao and created new faculty positions.

CSU launched the Bioanalytical Nexus Center and the Food Quality and Safety Lab, securing โ‚ฑ196.7 million in external research funds. Two board-approved journals were launched. A total of 113 faculty had patents or publications; 539 research outputs were cited. On extension, CSU conducted 161 training sessions for 11,621 beneficiaries and established 28 community partnerships.

CSU pursued global engagement through its Athena Roadmap, focusing on food security, science, and global partnerships. It mobilized over 1,400 students and faculty, with forged global partnerships, and launched initiatives like the Filipino Coffee Institute-CSU in partnership with the Filipino Coffee Institute. Among its landmark achievements, CSU received official approval from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for multiple international partnerships.
