The celebration of the 47th Founding Anniversary of Cagayan State University (CSU) continued on June 10, at CSU Aparri Campus with a full slate of fellowship activities, bringing together faculty, staff, and university officials in a day dedicated to unity, innovation, and community engagement.
OIC President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, together with CSU vice presidents, campus executive officers, and university officials, led the Ribbon Cutting and Groundbreaking Ceremonies, which launched two major infrastructure projects.
The Fish Production and Management Office is envisioned to enhance research and education, with a focus on sustainable aquaculture practices, fisheries management, and food security. It also aims to boost the production of the campus’ agri-fishery products while supporting local economic development and scientific innovation.
Meanwhile, the Upgrading of the Aramang Processing Facility, a Php5,000,000.00 project funded by the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR). This upgrade will expand the existing facility by 75%, increasing its production capacity, working area, and equipment. The project intends to benefit CSU researchers and students, as well as local fisherfolk and the wider community.
After the ceremonies, participants joined a variety of hands-on and cultural activities, including the Culinary Innovation Showcase, the Hook and Harvest Tournament, and the festive Tinuno Festival, which featured traditional grilling and native cuisine. A shared fellowship lunch further strengthened bonds among attendees.
In the afternoon, faculty researchers pitched agricultural products during the Pitching Competitions at the Gatchalian Building. At the same time, the CSU Aparri Gymplex hosted interactive games and activities that promoted camaraderie and teamwork within the CSU community.
