Cagayan State University (CSU) Carig Campus capped off the final day of its 47th Academic Convocation on July 4, 2025, producing an additional 1,247 graduates to its tally, the highest number across all CSU campuses for Class of 2025.
This adds to the 1,097 graduates conferred on Day 1, bringing CSU Carig’s total to 2,344 graduates. Including earlier ceremonies for the College of Law (38 graduates, held June 20) and the upcoming College of Medicine (115 graduates, set for July 24), the campus celebrates a grand total of 2,497 graduates this academic year.
The concluding day honored graduates from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHaSS), College of Industrial Technology (CIT), and as well as the Graduate School, College of Public Administration (CPaD), and College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (CNSM).
The morning session featured 474 graduates from the Graduate School, CPaD, and CNSM. A total of 66 academic awardees were recognized, including 5 Magna Cum Laude, 37 Cum Laude, 13 Academic Distinction, and 11 With Merit, along with 11 Graduate School Dean’s Listers, 4 Outstanding Dissertations, and 3 Outstanding Theses.
Magna Cum Laude Luzilla Rose P. Macasaddug, Bachelor of Science in Biology, gave a stirring Address of Thanks, invoking the Latin phrase: Ad astra per aspera —“to the stars through hardships,” which also serves as CSU’s guiding mantra.
“That phrase, in just four words, captures the spirit of our shared academic journey. The road ahead will still have challenges. There will still be uncertainty. But now, we face them with the courage born of experience,” she declared, reflecting the grit and resilience of the graduating class.
The final convocation batch highlighted 773 graduates from the CHaSS and CIT. Among them were 6 Magna Cum Laude, 41 Cum Laude, 35 Academic Distinction, and 39 With Merit awardees. Representing the graduates was Rica Jane A. Aguidan, Magna Cum Laude in AB English Language Studies.
“As we flap our wings and share this success with our families and friends, may it serve as a reminder that this is only the beginning,” she said. “Beyond medals and trophies, may we always carry the heart of being a CSUan—unified by faith, knowledge, and motivation through wide and brave understanding,” she added.
As CSU moves forward with the graduation ceremonies in its remaining campuses including Lasam, Sanchez Mira, Aparri, Gonzaga, Lallo, and the College of Medicine later this month, the university recognizes both academic milestones and the inspiring stories that define what it means to be a CSUan.
