The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has officially announced the winners of the 2025 Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partners, honoring organizations that have made exceptional contributions to empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country.
Among this year’s awardees under the Accelerating Technology & Innovation Category is Cagayan State University’s Electromobility Research and Development Center (CSU-eMRDC) for its program “Venturing on Electric Transportation.” The program champions local innovation in electric mobility, aiming to transform the transport landscape through sustainable solutions.
Established through the DOST’s Science for Change Program–NICER in 2021, CSU-eMRDC has launched pioneering research and development initiatives such as the design and fabrication of electric tricycle (e-trike) components and a comprehensive viability and policy study for converting traditional tricycles into e-trikes. The center is now expanding to electric buses (ePUBs), buggies, and e-bikes—pushing the boundaries of local R&D in green transport.
The DTI Philippines, through its official Facebook Page, commends CSU and all other awardees for their outstanding programs that advance innovation, expand access to markets and finance, and uplift the MSME sector.
Congratulations CSU and to all our development partners, especially the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), for your unwavering commitment to innovation and inclusive growth. We are excited to celebrate this feat in the upcoming awarding ceremony.
