The Athena Law Moot & Debate Society of the Cagayan State University (CSU) College of Law clinched 1st Runner-Up and Grand Finalist in the 1st Philippine Institute of Construction Arbitrators and Mediators (PICAM) Moot Court Competition, held on July 14–15, 2025, at the University of the Philippines–BGC Campus.
The university also received the Sir Edmund Hillary Award, named after the New Zealand explorer who, in 1953, became one of the first to summit Mount Everest, a global symbol of courage, pioneering spirit, and resilience. The award honors CSU’s boldness in overcoming significant logistical and resource-related challenges, demonstrating unwavering commitment to participate in the national competition despite the odds.
In addition to institutional recognition, Mr. Jerome Rebocca was awarded Best Oralist (Claimant). Mr. Raymond Romeo Q. Domingo also performed as an oralist in the grand finals.
The oralists were supported by researchers Mr. Stanley Donato, Mr. Vince Dabbay, Mr. Alfredo Famoso III, Ms. Shara Basilio, and Mr. Gerard Somera, with Atty. Mikael Maestre as coach.
