As part of the Philippine delegation led by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Cagayan State University (CSU) OIC President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez joined efforts to strengthen academic cooperation with higher education institutions in Cambodia during the State Visit of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on September 7–9, 2025.
Together with CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, University of the Philippines (UP) President Angelo A. Jimenez, and Batangas State University (BSU) President Tirso A. Ronquillo, Dr. Ibañez participated in a courtesy meeting with Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport (MoEYS).
The discussion focused on deepening bilateral collaboration through credit transfer programs, mutual recognition of degrees, faculty mobility and upskilling, and research partnerships in priority fields such as agriculture, food security, engineering, and renewable energy.
Cagayan State University, alongside University of the Philippines (UP), and Batangas State University (BSU) are set to advance these initiatives that promote innovation, resilience, and shared prosperity within the ASEAN region.
To further concretize these initiatives, Dr. Ibañez and the team also visited Phnom Penh International University (PPIU) and the National University of Management (NUM), exploring potential collaborations and joint academic projects.
