Cagayan State University (CSU) successfully concluded the 2025 International TVET Conference with the recognition of the best paper presenters during the closing program held today, October 31, at the Claude Andrews Convention Center.
Among the winners were Engr. Michael B. Orpilla, whose study on electric bus retrofitting was named best under Evolving Industry Demands. Conducted under CSU’s Electromobility Research and Development Center (EMRDC), their research tackles design challenges in converting traditional buses into electric-powered vehicles and ensures safety and stability through optimal center-of-gravity placement.
Engr. Bernard D. Bisuecos, won under Future-Ready Workforce for their machine learning-based predictive maintenance system for electric tricycles. Their research develops a predictive maintenance system for electric tricycles (C-Trikes) that reduces downtime and maintenance costs, supporting EMRDC’s drive for sustainable and clean-energy mobility.
For the theme Certification Without Borders, Ms. Rachelle Joy A. Consigna’s study on SINAG Cagayan Valley’s mentorship initiatives earned top recognition. Her research emphasizes how SINAG’s mentorship programs enhance startup development, faculty innovation, and entrepreneurial engagement across the Cagayan Valley region.
Meanwhile, Ms. Myraly L. Marcos’ research on empowering local agripreneurs through lifelong learning was awarded best under Transforming TVET Curricula. Her research highlights CSU Gonzaga’s efforts to promote agricultural entrepreneurship through technical-vocational training and lifelong community-based learning.
The 2025 International TVET Conference showcases how innovation, sustainability, and industry alignment continue to shape not only the present but also the future.
