CSU’S GENDER MAINSTREAMING GAINS RECOGNITION AS 3RD O-GAD CHAMPION IN CAGAYAN VALLEY

By Office of the University President | December 11, 2025 |

Cagayan State University (CSU) has been recognized as the 3rd Outstanding-Gender and Development (O-GAD) champion in Cagayan Valley, making it one of the leading institutions in the promotion of inclusivity and gender equality.

The Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC II) conferred the award in recognition of institutions that demonstrate exemplary leadership in advancing gender-responsive programs and in mainstreaming GAD principles across their operations, policies, and institutional culture.

It also highlights the university as a model of effective gender mainstreaming by implementing measurable strides in promoting women’s empowerment, diversity, and equitable participation in development.

This achievement aligns with the university’s broader reputation as a development-oriented institution; notably, CSU has celebrated gains in global impact metrics aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 5 (Gender Equality).

CSU’s ranking as one of the O-GAD Champions is both an honor and a challenge, an encouragement to continue innovating, measuring impact, and ensuring that gender sensitivity is not an afterthought but a fundamental principle in service delivery and education.
