In a ceremony held today, January 16, 2024, at CSU-Carig campus, new infrastructure projects for the university were unveiled through the KaunLARAn initiatives of Congressman Joseph “Jojo” Lara. These include a high-rise building that will accommodate a library, laboratory, and a dormitory for students, faculty, and staff of Solana campus. A student center that will be housed in the under-construction student dormitory, equipped with an elevator is now possible for Andrews campus. The “Bahay Alumni” is expected to rise, in addition to the ongoing establishment of the student dormitory and sports complex at CSU-Carig. Funds were also guaranteed for the full development of the gymnasiums of the campuses.
As Cong. Jojo Lara presented the new projects, he expressed appreciation for the full- support of the CSU family and the members of the Board of Regents, which made all these initiatives possible. He added that the fulfillment of these projects is a way of giving back the chances given to him to serve the public.
The event was also taken as an opportunity for the whole academic community to express gratitude to the congressman for his commitment towards elevating the educational standards of CSU. The Campus Executive Officers of the benefiting campuses, Prof. Ramon Henry O, Kanapi - CEO of Andrews campus, Engr. Arthur G. Ibanez - CEO of Carig campus, and Engr. Ma. Haidee Mabborang - CEO of Solana campus delivered their messages to the 3rd district representative and his wife, Dr. Zarah de Guzman Lara. They expressed their sincerest appreciation and acknowledgment of the promising developments these on-going and new projects would have on their respective campuses. Beyond bringing convenience, these infrastructures promise to create conducive living and learning spaces, enhancing the overall experience for CSUans.
President Urdujah G. Alvarado ended the program by giving a sincere acknowledgment and appreciation of the special relationship of Cong. Lara and the university. The great accomplishments in terms of buildings and facilities would not have been realized without his commitment.
Meanwhile, university and campus officials of Andrews, Carig, and Solana campuses and students joined the ceremonies along with Atty. Vic Casauay, the Chief of Staff of Cong. Lara, and Atty. William Babaran.
