Officer-in-Charge University President Arthur G. Ibañez formally presented the 678 delegates of Cagayan State University during the opening program of the Cagayan Valley Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (CaVRASUC) 2026 held at the Nueva Vizcaya Sports Complex on March 3.

CSU joins fellow State Universities and Colleges across Region II for the four-day regional meet hosted by Nueva Vizcaya State University from March 3 to 6, 2026. The 678-strong delegation will compete in various socio-cultural and sporting events.

The program commenced with a parade of delegates, followed by opening remarks from NVSU President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr. Batanes State College President Dr. Djovi R. Durante, Isabela State University President Dr. Boyet L. Batang, Quirino State University OIC President Engr. Alfonso R. Simon, and Philippine Normal University Executive Director and Provost Dr. Agnes S. Reyes also presented their respective delegations.

Ceremonial highlights included the hoisting of the CaVRASUC and team banners, the oath of amateurism and sportsmanship led by national medalist Rowen-Jay C. Ballesteros, the oath-taking of officiating officials and coaches, the friendship run, and the lighting of the CaVRASUC cauldron.

The formal declaration of the opening of CaVRASUC 2026 was delivered by Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino, President of the Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (RASUC).

The celebration concluded with a solidarity dance and the presentation of Mr. and Ms. PASUC candidates. In the cheer dance competition, Isabela State University claimed the championship title, Cagayan State University placed first runner-up, and Quirino State University finished second runner-up.
