Calayan, Island — Cagayan State University (CSU) officials, led by Officer-in-Charge President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, conducted an on-site visit at the CSU Calayan Extension Campus, engaging faculty, staff, and students in a series of institutional activities focused on campus development, student support, and service delivery.
A consultation meeting with faculty and staff highlighted pressing infrastructure concerns, including the need for comfort rooms, stable internet connectivity, adequate water supply, classroom improvements, television units for instructional support, and transportation-related challenges affecting campus operations. The conduct of a land survey of the campus is expected to commence soon.
The team also had the opportunity to meet with Municipal Mayor Joseph M. Llopis, Vice Mayor Josephus Jericho R. Llopis, the Sangguniang Bayan members, and former Mayor Alfonso M. Llopis, which they discussed the offering of additional courses and the expansion of the administration building. The CSU team extends its gratitude to them for the warm reception.
The team likewise conducted an on-site assessment of academic buildings identified for immediate renovation and expansion, as well as the preparation of the proposed master development plan which includes the campus oval.
In response to student needs, Student Regent Kyle Aron Tan facilitated the distribution of cash assistance to the two-hundred and twenty seven (227) students, aimed at providing immediate financial relief.
Further, a medical mission was conducted led by Dr. Jordan Callueng together with the human resource from Provincial Department of Health Office (PDOHO) Cagayan, extending basic health services to students, their parents, and campus employees.
Dr. Ibáñez also took time to personally interact with students through an interview session, allowing him to hear their experiences and concerns directly.
The visit culminated in an in-house proposal review session among faculty members, centered on strategic development plans for the extension campus. Serving as panel of evaluators were Vice President for Research, Development and Extension Dr. Audy R. Quebral and Director for Research and Development Dr. Anderson G. Gonzales.
