The Cagayan State University has taken a significant step towards enhancing the resilience and safety of local infrastructure in the region through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office II.

The MOA, signed by Cagayan State University President Arthur Ibañez at the DILG's regional office in Carig, establishes the Local Infrastructure Learning Hub (LILHuB). This hub will bring together a pool of experts from the academe and development partner agencies to provide technical assistance and capacity-building programs for local government units infrastructure audit teams in the region.

In a ceremony attended by the department's development and academe partners in the region, Assistant Regional Director Elpidio A. Durwin represented Regional Director Agnes A. De Leon, who delivered a message emphasizing the importance of this partnership.

Through this partnership, Cagayan State University and DILG will work together to address the needs of local government units in terms of infrastructure development, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation.

The LILHuB will serve as a platform for knowledge sharing, capacity building, and technical assistance, ultimately contributing to the development of safe, resilient, and sustainable local infrastructure in the region.

Aside from Cagayan State University, the LILHub shall comprise regional government agencies and professional organizations that will act as partner-implementers of the Infrastructure Audit Program. These include the Department of Public Works and Highways, Office of Civil Defense, Department of Trade and Industry, Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Bureau of Fire Protection, Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines, and the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers
