With half of 2026 behind it, Cagayan State University (CSU) turned the spotlight on institutional performance as it convened its Mid-year Departmental Performance Review and Evaluation on August 13, 2026.

Held at the Office of the President Conference Room of the Central Administration Building, the review focused on the University's strategic accomplishments from January to June 2026, with management examining progress, validating results, and identifying areas requiring further action.

Dr. Ian Roger M. Francisco, University Director for Planning and Development and Head of the UPMT Secretariat, opened the technical proceedings by laying down the evaluation guidelines and introducing the panel of evaluators, Dr. Urdujah G. Alvarado, Fr. Ranhilio C. Aquino, and Dr. Florentina S. Dumlao.

The program featured comprehensive mid-year presentations from the university’s four vice presidents: Dr. Mariden V. Cauilan reported on instructional quality and academic affairs; Dr. Ana Marie Cristina C. Cauilan presented the University's internationalization, partnerships, and resource mobilization initiatives; Dr. Audy R. Quebral discussed research, development, and extension breakthroughs; and Dr. Theresa B. Dimalanta presented developments in fiscal management and infrastructure modernization.

The evaluation successfully concluded with the formulation of concrete "Ways Forward" spearheaded by the UPMT Secretariat, serving as the operational blueprint for all campuses to surpass their targets for the remaining quarters of 2026.

The activity served as a mechanism for accountability, validation, and continuous improvement, allowing University leaders to examine performance against targets, identify operational challenges, and determine strategic actions for the rest of the year
