#CSUINFOCUS || CSU STANDS AMONG FOUR GLOBAL UNIVERSITY INNOVATION LABS IN UN SDG REPORT

A state university from Northern Philippines is now part of a select group of global academic institutions recognized for helping turn the Sustainable Development Goals from global commitments into local action.

Cagayan State University has been featured as one of four Innovation Labs (InnoLabs) in the 2026 Knowledge and Scientific Network Report of the United Nations Local2030 Coalition, ...which examines the growing role of universities in SDG localization.

The report, Enhancing the Role of Academia in SDG Localization, was launched during the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels on October 14, 2026.

Cagayan State University joins the University of South Africa, Utah Valley University of the United States, and the University of Granada of Spain as international examples of universities that connect scientific evidence, research, local knowledge, and public action to address territorial development challenges.

The report specifically recognizes Cagayan State University as an anchor institution for place-based development across its nine campuses, highlighting initiatives in smart agriculture, coastal research, e-mobility, and community enterprise development.

With campuses distributed across Cagayan, Cagayan State University is uniquely positioned to serve as a platform where academic expertise, research, community knowledge, government priorities, and local development concerns converge.

The University’s inclusion in the KSN report likewise strengthens Cagayan State University’s emerging role in SDG localization, particularly in translating global sustainability commitments into initiatives responsive to local conditions. #TatakCSU
