CSU Officials Undergo Training in ASEAN University Network- Quality Assurance

In support to the plan to implement the AUN-QA System in Cagayan State University, four officials attended the AUN-QA Training Course for Accomplishing Programme Assessment (Tier 1) on April 3-6, 2018 at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Bangkok Thailand. The group was composed of Fr. Ranhilio C. Aquino, Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Leticia A. Dumlao, Director of Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Narcitas Quano, Campus Executive Officer, CSU Sanchez Mira Campus and Mr. Ramon Toto Kanapi, Assistant to the Vice President for Administration and Finance.

The four-day course aimed to introduce the AUN-QA system and enhance the Quality Assurance at the university. This comprehensive programme was meant for professionals who are in charge of quality assurance at programme and/or institutional level from universities (both public and private) in the region.

Among the contents of the training were:

1. Introduction of the QA in higher education in regional and international perspectives.
2. Introduction of the AUN-QA Quality Assessment Process and
3. Perform the internal QA-Self Assessment at study program.

The trainers were Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA Expert (Singapore) and Chief Happiness Coach and Tan Kay Chuan, Ph.D. Chief Quality Officer, Lead Trainer, Assessor to AUN-QA and AUN-QA Technical Team.

Lectures, small group works on simulation of programme assessment, and presentation of group outputs were the training methodologies used by the experts.

Upon completion of the training course, the trainees obtained the AUN-QA Training Course Certificate to be used for further QA references and serves as one of the eligibility requirements for the AUN-QA membership of the University.
