Hundreds of CSU student fused- in for the Cine Juana Film Viewing at Cagayan State University, Andrews Campus Gymnasium on March 14, 2018 in line with the celebration of Women's Month.
The hour long film titled “Mona Lisa Smile”, an American film portrayed by Julia Roberts, a determined woman who confronted the outdated mores of society and the institution that embraces them, and inspires her traditional students to challenge the lives they are expected to lead, was watched by the students.
Prof. Ann Chua, CSU-Andrews GAD Focal person and Dr. Remedios Quilang, CHIM GAD Focal Person super headed the said activity to showcase and to celebrate women’s empowerment, resiliency and the various role that women play in the society.
Cine Juana Film festival is one of the activities laid by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) for the 2018 National Women’s Month celebration in line with the theme “We Make Change Work for Women”.
This annual activity serves as an eye opener to the students to see Women’s role as an engine of change in the society.
