Sexual, emotional, physical, psychological and economical abuses on women appear as the country’s pervasive social problems that is why various measures and mechanisms have been employed and implemented to address the said abuses. One of which is the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC), an advocacy campaign that is observed annually from November 25 to December 12 as mandated by Proclamation 1172 s. 2006.
In view of this advocacy campaign, Cagayan State University launched the 18-Day campaign to end VAWC. Andrews, Lallo, Lasam and Sanchez Mira campuses spearheaded a kick off program for the said campaign. Other campuses hung tarpaulins on Anti-VAWC campaign. CSU employees also used the customized VAWC frame on their Facebook profile pictures and expressed support to the advocacy by wearing orange shirts.
