Shining bright like a star, the Cagayan State University community pays tribute to its mantra - “Ad astra per aspera (to the stars through hardships)” as it celebrates the holiday season and its achievements through the Year-End Performance Review Program with the theme “Raniag Ti CSU” held last December 20, 2022.
The 3-part program celebration started with the Year-End Performance Review Program where the campus executive officers from the nine campuses presented their respective campuses’ achievements across instruction, research, extension, partnership mobilization, and internationalization through an audio-visual presentation. Moreover, the Vice Presidents also presented the key accomplishments in their own departments in the same format.
In order to evaluate the performances of each unit, a panel of critics composed of University President Urdujah G. Alvarado, CSU Board of Regent members Hon. Arturo B. Tabbu and Hon. Loreto M. Pacay, Jr., and CSU Technical Adviser Florentina S. Dumlao delivered comments and suggestions as a way forward to continue the programs and good case practices rendered for the year.
Showcasing innovativeness and creativity, the CSU community also battled for the Best Lantern Award for the Lantern Parade Festival. 24 floats from different campuses and colleges lit up the streets featuring the campuses’ niche through colorful and innovative floats and lanterns that were made by faculty and students.
A group of judges determined the winner for the best float where the Piat Campus bested as the 1st place. The Research Development and Extension Office came in at 2nd place and Gonzaga Campus at 3rd place.
As a finale, Cagayan State University celebrated its vibrant and hard-working community through a Thanksgiving Program that brought together the whole CSU family from all campuses for a night of goodwill and camaraderie.
The program was an avenue for University President Alvarado to present the University’s accomplishments for 2022 which was made by the producers of “Kaagapay Mo CSU” a student-produced TV news magazine program. The program also honored the 2022 retirees for their dedicated and committed service to the university. Also, employees and designated officials were given Presidential Awards for their exemplary performance in the conduct of their duties and responsibilities. The night also showcased the talents of each campus through a show choir competition.
CSU Sanchez Mira emerged as the overall winner, with CSU Andrews as 1st runner-up and CSU Piat as the 2nd runner-up.
The Thanksgiving Program was a night of fun as everyone felt the spirit of the Christmas season and became a good note to usher in the new year ahead.
