This afternoon, August 22, 2023, the Cagayan State University (CSU) hailed its newest international partner in Kerala, India through a Memorandum of Understanding with Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies (YIMS) led by its Principal, Dr. Tomy Anthony.
University President Dr. Urdujah G. Alvarado said that internationalization is one of the areas that the university wants to forge and develop to realize various convergence activities among different academic institutions with the same goal as CSU.
“With Philippines and India harnessing the rich traditions and practices, there will surely be a lot of similarities and differences in culture and academics that will be great points for learning in cultural understanding towards a better higher education in Asia region,” Dr. Alvarado said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Tomy Anthony, ably represented by Vice Principal Dr. Lalu Olikkalkoonal, said that YIMS is looking forward to collaborating with CSU in various education and research activities, both for faculty and students, exchange of publications and information, innovation, sharing of best practices, among others.
The two higher education institutions shall implement activities in Education and research, faculty and student training, exchange of academicians and researchers, exchange of faculties and students, exchange of scholarly materials and information, invitation to conferences, colloquiums, and fora, and other analogous activities as agreed upon in the signed MOU.
The MOU is witnessed by Dr. M. Ramachandran, Convenor, External Affairs, PG Department of Geography of YIMS, and Prof. Shylaja Menon, Coordinator, Internal Quality Assurance Cell of YIMS, Dr. Theresa B. Dimalanta, CSU Vice President for Internationalization, Partnership, and Resource Mobilization, and Dr. Mariden V. Cauilan, CSU Vice President for Academic Affairs.
