PRESIDENT ALVARADO TALKS ON LEADERSHIP DURING THE 2023 NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WEEK CELEBRATION IN ILOILO CITY

President Urdujah Alvarado shared insights on nurturing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship to new breed of leaders during the SETUP Summit of the Department of Science and Technology in Iloilo City on November 24, 2023 which was attended by DOST Secretary Renato Solidum, USEC Sancho Mabborang and other Undersecretaries, Assistant Secretaries, Regional Directors and other officials of DOST and some line agencies.
In her presentation, she called on modern day leaders to embrace innovations that protect the planet and ensure that their organizations head forward to a sustainable future.
Ascribing to the support of DOST and other partner agencies the university’s accomplishments, President Alvarado emphasized that the development of technology, creation of innovation and production of breakthrough solutions are play a crucial role in the eradication of poverty making it important to improve the capacity of leaders to innovate for a better future. In her presentation, she shared some of her self-tested leadership techniques while citing DOST-CSU partnership projects as a backdrop of her discussion.
President Alvarado is formerly a DOST Assistant Secretary and Regional Director. She holds the rank of CESO II and is a recipient of several leadership national and international awards even before her stint as University President.
