In support of the advocacy of the Philippine Commission on Women, the Cagayan State University (CSU) officially kicks off the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) today, November 28, 2023, with the theme βπππΌππΈπ πππ π ππ΄π-ππππ πβπππππππππ β.
The 18-Day Campaign to End VAW underscores the significance of collective action in addressing violence against women and girls by raising awareness and promoting a culture of respect and equality for a safer and more just society for all.
In her message, University President Urdujah G. Alvarado, ably represented by the University Gender and Development Focal Person, Prof. Kristinne Joyce A. Lara, said that the campaign is an opportune time to amplify the collective voices and advocate for women's empowerment, fostering greater awareness and activism to cultivate a more equitable environment for both students and employees.
βIn CSU, we are committed to ensuring that the concepts of VAW and womenβs human rights are in the curriculum, the continuous conduct of anti-VAW advocacies and formulation of extension programs, and the setting up of Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) where students and employees can seek help,β she said.
The activity is joined by CSU Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mariden V. Cauilan and other university officials, CEO of Andrews Campus, Prof. Ramon O. Kanapi, college deans, faculties, personnel and staff, and students.
