CSU CONDUCTS ORIENTATION TO STRENGTHEN ACCOUNTABILITY AMONG BONDED OFFICIALS

In an effort to ensure transparency and accountability in handling public funds and property, the Cagayan State University (CSU) held an orientation for bonded officials today, February 13, 2024, to equip the accountants, supply and cashier officers from various satellite campuses and the central administration on the bonding law and updated guidelines.

Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, the Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the University President, expressed appreciation to the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) Region 02 for facilitating the orientation. "We aim to safeguard the University's resources and prevent misuse of cash advances," Dr. Ibañez emphasized.

The orientation featured speakers from the BTr, including Ms. Vanessa T. Abana, Treasury Operations Officer IV, and Ms. Janice A. Abarca, Treasury Operations Officer III. They covered topics such as the Public Bonding Law, fidelity fund application and usage, cash accountability, responsible handling of accountable forms, and the online fidelity bonding system.

Following the discussion, CSU bonded officials underwent actual enrollment of accounts in the BTr Online Fidelity Bond eServices.

Organized by the Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration under Dr. Theresa B. Dimalanta, the event was participated by campus executive officers in different campuses of CSU along their respective personnel and staff from the supply and finance divisions.
