OIC IBAÑEZ LEADS CSU DELEGATION TO 2024 PASUC KICK-OFF AT PHILIPPINE NORMAL UNIVERSITY IN MANILA

The Cagayan State University (CSU) delegation, led by OIC Arthur Ibanez, joined other universities from Region 2 in representing the region at the 2024 PASUC National Culture and the Arts Festival hosted by the Philippine Normal University in Manila.

The three-day festival commenced on April 23, 2024 at the Philippine Normal University Quadrangle where CSU and other State Universities and Colleges from Region 2 showcased their skills and talents in sports, literary and socio-cultural events. With the theme “Bidlisiw: Paghilom, Pagbangon at Pagsulong”, the festival aims to promote camaraderie and sportsmanship among participating institutions.

Dr. Bert J. Tuga, Chair of PASUC-NCR and President of the Philippine Normal University, welcomed delegates and guests, emphasizing the importance of cultural exchange and personal growth. Vice Mayor John Marvin “Yul Servo” C. Nieto of Manila also expressed the city’s support for the cultural festival, recognizing it as an opportunity for delegates to showcase their talents.

Hon. Senator Pia S. Cayetano delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the significance of preserving culture for future generations and commending the regions for their cultural performances. The event concluded with the presentation of candidates from competing regions and the introduction of Mr. and Ms. PASUC 2024, followed by the official opening of the BUDSILIW: 2024 PASUC Culture and the Arts Festival by Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, President of PASUC. A spectacular fireworks display and unity dance marked the end of the opening program.
