(Central News Service 20240529 16:24:33) Kainan University and two universities in the Philippines, University of the Cordilleras and Cagayan State University today (29 Day) Held a memorandum of cooperation signing ceremony. The cooperation project signed this time includes student-teacher exchange, joint research plan, internship plan, joint meeting and cultural exchange. President Lin Yuexiu of Kainan University, Vice President Lai Yuanhui, Director of International and Cross-Strait Affairs Office Yang Shengping Director, Deputy Director and Director of the Chinese Language Center Liu Xuerui, and President of Cordillera University in the Philippines Ms. Nancy M. Flores, Dr., Vice President of Cagayan State University in the Philippines Mariden Ventura and others attended the signing ceremony.
University of the Cordilleras (UC) Cordillera University, located in Baguio, Philippines, has three campuses and is regarded as an educational center by locals; and Cagayan State University, located in the Cagayan Valley, the second largest district in the Philippines, has 9 campuses, each of which is the responsibility of different school CEOs. Both schools focus on business, law, agriculture, scientific research, etc. The courses include all-English teaching to help students acquire basic English communication skills, interact with local people and experience local cultural life.
In addition to introducing the characteristic departments and academic performance of each school, President Lin Yuexiu also hoped to strengthen the direction and opportunity of academic and industrial cooperation through exchanges and mutual understanding. Kainan University said that in addition to the memorandum, the two sides have also signed a student exchange agreement to provide students from both sides with learning opportunities to go abroad and come to the school for short-term or research. Through the exchange of students to increase the international vision of students, we can achieve the goal of expanding international academic exchanges between Taiwan and the Philippines.
Yang Shengping, the international director, said that it is the direction of Kainan University's efforts to promote internationalization, establish partnerships with universities around the world, and provide dual degrees, exchange students and short-term study programs. More universities from various countries have joined the cooperation camp, which helps students broaden their horizons, improve their language ability and grow up in a cross-cultural environment, which is conducive to academic growth and communication.
