CSU RENEWS AS A REGISTERED PUBLISHER (PRINT AND ONLINE)

Cagayan State University (CSU) proudly announces the renewal of its status as a Registered Publisher for both print and online formats. This certification, granted by the National Book Development Board (NBDB) in compliance with the Book Publishing Industry Development Act (Republic Act 8047), reinforces CSU's commitment to strengthening its science communication system and ownership of knowledge produced through its core mandates: Instruction, Research, Extension and Production (IREP).

The renewed certification, signed by Charisse Aquino-Tugade, the Executive Director of NBDB, remains valid until April 30, 2025. This recognition underscores the vital role of book publication in the holistic development of the Filipino people and contributes to nation-building and continuous growth on a national scale.

As a registered publisher, CSU is authorized to publish a wide range of materials, including books, textbooks, scientific journals, cultural and medical publications, architectural and professional magazines, and book catalogs. This status also grants CSU access to the online application for International Book Standard Number (ISBN) and International Serial Standard Number (ISSN) from the National Library of the Philippines. These identifiers are essential for the publication, dissemination and metadata preservation of scholarly information.

CSU has been actively involved in publishing academic journals, supplementary learning resources, and various books. These publications include works authored by students, faculty members and outputs from conference initiatives, showcasing the diverse and rich intellectual contributions within the university community. In 2023, CSU recorded print and online publications specifically academic journals, supplementary learning resource, textbook, book and pamphlets generated from RDE projects. Additionally, CSU has been proactive in orienting faculty members and students about the publication process. Several workshops and orientation sessions have been conducted to guide them through the process of publishing registered books and IEC materials.
