Further, DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman shared valuable insights on achieving success, drawing inspiration from Roman philosopher Seneca's idea that "luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." The Secretary highlighted that success is not merely a stroke of luck but the result of choosing to be passionate, dedicated, and persistent about one's dreams every day. She emphasized the importance of equipping oneself with the right mindset and skills to be ready when opportunities arise. "Set yourself up for growth," she advised. "Never stop building your values, as this positions you to harness opportunities when they come."
She encouraged individuals to learn from their experiences and from others, stressing the need for preparation and long-term goal setting. "What are your dreams? What are you passionate about? What do you hope to achieve? Identifying these answers can lead you to the right opportunities," she said.
Secretary Pangandaman also pointed out that while skills and abilities are crucial, one's attitude determines success. Sharing lessons from her two decades in public service, she listed key principles for achieving success: there is no substitute for hard work, find your passion and advocacy, build real relationships, be agile and adapt, foster critical thinking, always show kindness, be proud of your heritage, be grateful at all times, and lastly, take care of the environment.
Lastly, she assured that their office will continue to support and give education utmost importance through their strategic budget allocation for the country’s education prowess. Meanwhile, Secretary Pangandaman was accompanied by DBM Undersecretary Goddess Hope O. Libiran and Undersecretary Wilford Will L. Wong.
